Abstract Landscape Exhibition, The Corner Store, Orange

The Abstract Landscape Exhibition at the Corner Store Gallery in May 2020 is going to be one of the highlights of the year for me. With everyone in locked down and most exhibitions cancelled it was the light on the horizon to be have some work hanging back in the gallery with some other special and talented artists. I was thrilled to have one of my best friends hanging with me too. We love Madi at The Corner Store Gallery for going ahead in a difficult time and curating a beautiful online show.

Mount Canobolas - After the Wildfires
When I visited Orange this year I took my painting journal up to Mt Canobolas to record the landscape with charcoal and paints. The bush is regenerating and the landscape is transforming. The grey blues and greens of regrowth are spectacular against the blackened tree trunks. The colour of the earth is pinky orange with soft yellow grasses. I recorded the palette in my journal and brought home to the studio some fallen branches and twigs to use in mark making.
